I just watched Donald Trump’s latest press conference from the Oval Office, and folks, it was a disaster from start to finish.
He was supposed to be announcing more tariffs—otherwise known as more taxes on working Americans—but instead, he went off the rails, contradicting himself, whining about the 2020 election (again) and the 2024 election, and lavishing praise on Vladimir Putin. It was a spectacle of lies, economic ignorance, and pure delusion.
I’ll break it down quickly.
First, Trump actually admitted that his tariffs will raise prices for Americans—something he’s always denied in the past. He tried to spin it as a short-term issue, but when pressed, he had no real answer. He even said, “Let’s see what happens. Nobody really knows.” Well, we do know: it’s going to make things more expensive for working people, just like his last round of tariffs did.
Then came the usual election lies. Trump went on another deranged rant about how the 2020 election was “rigged” and then claimed the 2024 election was “too big to rig” despite the Democrats best efforts (This guy can’t even keep his conspiracies straight.) He also bizarrely suggested that Mitch McConnell never actually had polio, questioning his medical history for no reason other than his own bitter grievances. Look, I’m no McConnell fan, but that is disgusting.
And then, of course, Trump went full Putin apologist—again. He blamed NATO for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, directly repeating Kremlin propaganda just a day after reportedly speaking with Putin himself. He even said he “trusts” Putin to want peace, which is just an outrageous statement when you consider that Putin is actively bombing civilians and waging an illegal war. Trump also suggested that Russia should be invited back into the G7, because apparently, illegally annexing Crimea wasn’t a big deal to him.
If all that wasn’t enough, Trump also took shots at Canada (calling them “the lowest payer in NATO”), attacked Taiwan for “taking our chip business” (handing a gift to China in the process), and claimed—without a shred of evidence—that his Truth Social post singlehandedly destroyed the BRICS economic alliance. The level of delusion is truly breathtaking.
So let’s be clear: this press conference wasn’t about helping Americans. It was a chaotic, rambling, and deeply troubling showcase of Trump’s ignorance, lies, and authoritarian tendencies. He’s not interested in fixing the economy—he’s interested in settling scores, attacking allies, and cozying up to dictators. And the American people are the ones paying the price.
Every day we are exposing him.
Every day we remain focused.
We will not bend. We will not comply. We will never cower like the corporate media.
None of this is normal. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
Stay focused, stay motivated, and let’s stay strong.
