I've been saying it for months now, and the latest headlines are finally catching up: Canada isn’t just standing up to Donald Trump—they’re going elbows up. This week on the MeidasTouch Podcast, I had the honor of welcoming back Canadian Member of Parliament Charlie Angus, a fierce and fearless voice who's been sounding the alarm long before corporate media decided to take notice.
Look at what we’re seeing now. Politico: “What other countries are taking away from Trump’s battle with Canada.” USA Today: “Canadian cold shoulder: Trump’s antics anger our otherwise polite neighbor.” Even The Washington Post is reporting that Canadians are canceling trips to the U.S. in droves—and I called that months ago. I said the boycott would hit 50–75%, maybe even closer to 100%. Why? Because Canadians are done being gaslit by a delusional wannabe dictator.
And yet, even as the economic fallout becomes undeniable, the Trump regime’s response is as pathetic as ever. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was asked about Trump’s absurd suggestion of annexing Canada and gave the classic MAGA brush-off: “It’s just a disagreement.” Right—because threatening to absorb a sovereign nation into your authoritarian fantasy land is just a mild difference of opinion now?
Charlie Angus doesn’t mince words. He knows what’s at stake—not just for Canada, but for global democracy. He talked about how Canada saw this coming and prepared, while the U.S. media parroted Trump’s propaganda about tariffs and trade. And he’s right: the resistance north of the border is stronger, more united, and more defiant than ever.
And get this—Trump’s goons, like Peter Navarro, are now whining that Canada needs to “tone down the rhetoric.” Please. Maybe try respecting other nations before demanding respect.
As always, I asked Charlie what message he wanted to send directly to Trump and his team—because yes, we know they watch. And Charlie delivered, as he always does.
This fight isn’t just ours—it’s international. So if you’re feeling discouraged, know this: the world sees Trump for what he is. And they’re not backing down. Neither should we.
