I am a Physician certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and a member of the American Medical Association and The American College of Gastroenterology and The American Gastroenterology Association and The Arizona Medical Association. I am quite dismayed that my Societies who purpose is to deliver and elevate the medical care of their patients have remained relatively silent regarding the possible appointment of Robert J. Kennedy Jr. as the governments Czar of American Medicine. Mr. Kennedy is devoid of any medical training and has demonstrated that he is on the absolute fringes of Medicine. He would set back American Medicine decades and endanger Americans for decades to come.

Make sure you let the societies you mentioned know that please. They have a responsibility to put their qualifications behind the importance of serious people doing such a serious appointment.

It is unfortunate that physician societies in general fail to assert themselves. Perhaps this is part of the reason why our healthcare has been turned over to big businesses? Wouldn't now be a good time to get involved since it would be better late than never? Or what will be the final break point if not the witch-doctor approach of RFK?
