He writes that he donated 10,000 tablets of Albendazole to treat hookworm in the US South and that it costs him $26.08 per course. How many tablets in a course? let's be generous and say it was 10,000 courses which would come out to $260,000. For Mark Cuban who is a billionaire $260,000 is like $20 for an average American. And then he charges 15% overhead to keep the lights on. He could easily fund the thing and make it absolutely free. That is what he should do that is what anybody with morals would do.

What makes you think that billionaires have to finance everything? Sounds like envy to me. He is actually doing some good in this world. I think certain tax avoidance strategies should be eliminated, and I think people should be paying their fair share of taxes. But let’s not bash, please the ultra wealthy who actually do some good.

He could make all the medicine that he offers through cost plus drugs 100% free and he would not be any less wealthy. Having so much money when so many people have so little is obscene and immoral.

His net worth is 5.7 billion. That is so much money that it is hard to understand how much more it is than the average person's net worth. If you earned a dollar a second it would take you 10 days to become a millionaire, 31 years to become a billionaire and 180 years to earn 5.7 billion

Good points, but it's worth noting that most of these billionaires and plutocrats didn't "earn" their billions. In a country with sane tax laws, a strong labor movement, and an engaged citizenry, we would have far fewer billionaires and our democracy would not be under attack by the ultra-rich and their Republican Party puppets.

we should have no billionaires not fewer because as you said no billionaire (or even a multimillionaire) ever earns their wealth. they steal it legally. extraction and exploitation are baked in. One does not need to be a business owner to understand that you would never hire someone and pay them more than the value of what they produced as you would be losing money. You would also never pay them exactly how much they produced because why would you put in all that effort to hire, train and support them if it did not make you more money or the potential for more money. You systematically and legally pay them less than what they produce, that is literally how capitalists create "profit" and "value".

The whole idea behind democracy is that the public good should not depend on the largesse of the unelected ultra-wealthy (or hereditary rulers, who often are, or become, ultra-wealthy as well as ultra-powerful). One or two or three philanthropic, pro-democracy billionaires doesn't change that.

Do you think Elon has ever done any of that ?

Of course not. People think he’s a genius but he isn’t. He has bought into companies which other people have made successful and buys more of these companies and then ousts the originals.

He supports Trump taking advantage of Ukraine, totally normalizing him.
