Message from Meidas Co-Founder on Presidents' Day

It may be Presidents' Day, but I will show zero respect to the traitor currently in office. On this Presidents' Day, let us reflect on how we can build our movement to ensure that future traitors never again occupy the presidency. We should reflect on this Presidents' Day on what we can do to resist and activate larger protests against the fascist idiocracy running and ruining America now. That is how I will spend the day.

Yesterday was a perfect example of what an un-American dirtbag the current holder of the presidency is. For those new subscribers to this Substack, you may not be used to leaders of major media companies like me speaking as directly as I do about the current treasonous piece of crap defiling the White House, but I don’t mince words on this network. Trump has come after us before, and I am sure he will again. I stand ready to fight when he does. We are not scared.

Yesterday, we saw devastating storms ravage Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia, causing multiple casualties. The governors of these states declared national emergencies. What did Trump do? He went to the Daytona 500 on the taxpayer dime, costing us millions of dollars to take photo ops of Air Force One flying over the stadium and his motorcade doing laps around the track.

The White House posted the photo ops—ones that would make Kim Jong Un blush—on its official account in post after post while Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia suffered. This follows Trump denying Georgia’s request for supplemental FEMA assistance for debris removal last week and Trump’s repeated calls to “shut down FEMA.” This is happening as Trump and Elon Musk use DOGE to lie about cutting waste while they give trillion-dollar tax cuts to billionaires.

The authoritarian Trump regime continues to give Americans—from red states to blue states to purple states—the middle finger. Trump is the greatest stain on American history. He is the destroyer of the American Dream. He deserves zero respect. He is a felon, a sexual assaulter, a fraudster, and the worst dealmaker—who should be in prison right now if it weren’t for spineless and co-conspirator Republicans and cowardly, complicit conservative judges and justices.

So on this Presidents' Day, I commit to helping the protests in America grow bigger and stronger. I commit to ensuring this summer will be a “summer of democracy” that will sweep through this country and be etched in history as a time when brave, real Americans from across the country made their voices heard and said no to fascism. On this Presidents' Day, I commit to never obeying, never submitting, and never running away.
