Michael Popok, host of Legal AF on the MeidasTouch Network, reported on the overlooked story amidst Trump’s transition chaos. It turns out the disarray of Trump’s transition has made Rupert Murdoch furious, and now he is sending Trump a clear message via The Wall Street Journal, one of the most prominent publications he owns. The WSJ has begun publishing scathing critiques of Trump’s hiring and firing decisions — and the pieces are clearly intended for an audience of one. Popok highlighted Trump’s erratic approach to cabinet appointments, including a staggering rate of firings and resignations before nominees even reach Senate confirmation. He called it a “sheer madness and anarchy,” with Trump’s transition team shunning FBI vetting protocols, leading to one scandal-plagued pick after another. Figures like Matt Gaetz, Chad Chronister, and Pete Hegseth have already been dismissed or forced out amidst controversies ranging from sexual misconduct allegations to public policy disputes.
The Wall Street Journal described Trump’s process as a “revolving door of chaos,” a sentiment echoed by Popok, who called it “the worst transition team in history.” Trump, unhappy with the coverage, has taken to social media to lambast Murdoch and the Journal. How dare the WSJ break with Dear Leader!
Popok pointed out that this dysfunction might offer Democrats and pro-democracy groups a blueprint to challenge Trump’s policies and appointments. With nominees likely to face legal and legislative obstacles, Popok noted that lawsuits challenging the legality of Trump’s executive orders and appointments are inevitable.
“This transition team is a joke,” said Popok, warning that if the current chaos is any indication, the country could be on the verge of lurching from one constitutional crisis to another. As pro-democracy forces continue to challenge Trump’s unqualified and dangerous picks, they will surely also be watching as Murdoch and Trump tear each other to pieces. Bring out the popcorn.
