I think the plan for “liberation day” is to liberate us from our money.

To the oligarchs doing this to us, that’s pocket change. On the upside, it might ignite my favorite resistance; a consumer boycott.

It doesn’t even have to be a “boycott”per say . Just change our buying habits to essential products only and skip the other stuff. Shop locally as much as possible and avoid name brands. Being a throw away society has really made Americans dependent on corporations, myself included.

maybe more of us stop ordering off Amazon and support local businesses whenever we can!!!

Yep, left Facebook the day after the election. Cold turkey. No regrets. Much more time for reading.

Me,too! I stopped ordering off of Amazon and got off FB. Never did Instagram or Messenger or other offshoots.

I divorced myself from Amazon when Bezos donated $1M to the sloguration fund. Living quite happily with Amazon.

As you said, it has only been 75 days since Biden was our president. I just want to relax and not worry about politics when I wake up in the morning. Worry about what Trump is going to do today. It feels like an eternity since Trump took over. So stressful every day.

Absolutely 💯. I so miss waking up to NOT worrying what happened last night.

For some reason, we can deal with this, the cards we've been dealt. FULL BULL RUSH IMO.

I understand the game. They just are trying to keep their names out of his mouth. The only way to beat him is to fight him in court. What’s to stop the next criminal potus from doing the same exact thing. Attacking a co-equal branch of government and that branch rolling over is bad for us all!

Easier is not the same as ethical or taking high moral path. I wouldn’t hire or refer that kind of law firm to a prospective client.

These firms are going to lose the best law school graduates. Some of them are already resigning from these wimpy law firms and organizing against them. Those firms giving in to Trump's blackmail will only be able to hire the equivalent of the Alina Habba (who graduated from the lowest ranked law school in the country). It will give those who held out against Trump "first pick of the litter." Then watch the best lawyers flock to the holdout firms.

I would love to see some of these lawyers leave these firms and form one of their own. Come together and start their own firm.

Popok always does a great job of explaining the legalese to us non-lawyers. Mahalo!

The young lawyers in those firms looking to make a future for themselves need to think seriously about what type of law firm they want to spend their career serving.

Kakistocracy is the most important word for this moment in history. Kakistocracy (/ˌkækɪˈstɒkrəsi/ KAK-ist-OK-rə-see) is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.[1]: 54 [2][3] The word was coined as early as the 17th century,[4] and is derived from two Greek words, kákistos (κάκιστος, 'worst') and krátos (κράτος, 'rule'), with a literal meaning of 'government by the worst people'.

I beg to differ. Trump's regime is straight-forward fascist! Fascism is a far-right form of government where most of the country's power is held by one ruler or a small group, under one party. Fascist states are usually totalitarian one-party states, that prey on masses of angry, atomized, and desperate individuals to make them unite behind a strong man who promises them a utopia and revenge on those who may have harmed them. Hitler and Mussolini for example (Wikipedia)

It's both, fascist and kakis, but also klepto, and, as stated in the comments below, sh!thole, a'hole, moron, and, I would add, idiot-ignoramus.

I thought the word was derived from “caca.”

I've been saying that Stephen Miller is the co-president with Elon since day one. Stephen is writing the executive orders, Trump can't wirite a complete sentence, he' s that ignorant and impaired. Popok, you're right, Stephen Miller hands are all over the " retribution " campaign against law firms. Trump only knows what Stephen , Susie Wiles and Elon tells him. Everyone in Trumps corrupt administration knows that Trump is cognitively and mentally not able to preform as the " real" president. How long will this charade continue before the great Oz curtain is torn down and we will see that racist, mysogist slimeball Stephen Miller holds the strings and operates the levers of the pitiful puppet, Donald Trump presidency!

Agree with you, DT is paraded out to sit at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office with Muskrat on his Right, & Stephen Miller on his Left! Interesting in every picture posted by the media! DT is unable to string a sentence together that doesn’t seem include ‘it going to great’, ‘there may be a little pain’, ‘ make America great’ and my favorite ‘we will all be rich’. Who’s the WE DT? It’s certainly not the poor or middle class that’s for damn sure! Thanks Popok for your continued insightful and informative podcasts-the Popok unhinged is my favorite!

Stephen Gillers, a law professor at New York University, told Newsweek that there are a number of methods by which Trump could seek another term, using the assistance of Vice President JD Vance.

👉 1. The Vance Presidency

"Trump can be nominated as vice president with Vance nominated to be president, Gillers said. "If the Vance-Trump ticket wins, Vance resigns and Trump becomes president. He then chooses Vance to be his vice president. The Senate would have to confirm Vance," he added.

"There is one possible problem with this tactic. The last sentence of the 12th amendment says: 'But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of vice president of the United States,'" Gillers said.

"However, it was written long before the 22nd amendment's two-term limit and probably refers to [minimum] age, 35 years old, and citizenship, naturally born in the U.S., which were and are the constitutional eligibility requirements.

"Further, the 22nd amendment prohibits Trump from 'being elected' president more than twice. But in this sequence, Trump is not being 'elected' president, but vice president."

👉 2. The President/Vice President Resignation

"The second workaround is this: Vance runs for president and someone else is on the ticket for vice president, maybe Don Jr. They win. Don Jr. quits and Vance picks Trump to be vice president with Senate confirmation," Gillers said.

"So Trump is not 'elected' to anything, not even vice president. Then Vance quits, Trump becomes president, though not through election. He chooses Vance as his vice president with Senate confirmation."

Gillers stressed that he is "just identifying these paths, not endorsing them."

👉 3. A Constitutional Amendment

Trump could seek to change the U.S. Constitution's ban on a third presidential term.

Let's hope none of these come to fruition!
