… Trump nominated environmental lawyer turned kooky medical conspiracy theorist RFK Jr as his HHS Secretary. HHS is a sprawling federal agency that probably impacts the daily lives of more Americans than any other part of the government. RFK Jr would be in control of Medicare, Medicaid and a host of other smaller agencies that regulate vaccines, food and water supply, on and on.
… HHS has the largest budget of any agency in the federal government. HHS includes: NIH, FDA, CDC, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, HRS, Substance Abuse & Mental Health Agency, Children and Families, and a lot more. Simply put, this agency must be run by the most responsible person in the government, and Trump has just put it in the hands of a nut job because he needed his endorsement.
… RFK Jr, as part of his crusade that childhood vaccines cause autism, claimed that he never knew or met anyone with autism when he was growing up in the 60-70s. His aunt Eunice Kennedy founded a camp for kids with autism in 1962 and founded the Special Olympics in 1968. He’s just a shameless, habitual liar.
… The man who admitted that a worm ate part of his brain has had a serious long-term heroin addiction, and is an admitted sex addict whose ex-wife committed suicide after she found his diary which chronicled in explicit detail 37 different affairs he had during their marriage. There is more crazy dirt on RFK Jr out there than even Matt Gaetz, and that’s saying something.
… CO Dem Gov Jared Polis, who some consider a future presidential contender, decided to end all that tonight by announcing that he thought RFK Jr was “a great pick” and lauded how much he would do for public health. Absolutely mystifying.
… Fallout continues from Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz for AG. Trump’s former NSA John Bolton: “The worst Cabinet nomination in American history. Gaetz is not only totally incompetent for this job, he doesn’t have the character or the civic virtue the Founding Fathers wanted … I thought Tulsi Gabbard was the worst in history until I learned about the Gaetz appointment.”
… Ranking Dem on Senate Judiciary Committee Dick Durbin demands that the House release their ethics report on Gaetz: “We cannot allow this valuable information from a bipartisan investigation to be hidden from the American people. Make no mistake, this information could be relevant to the question of Gaetz’s confirmation as AG.”
… The attorney for the minor girl Gaetz allegedly victimized, “We would support the House Ethics Committee immediately releasing their report. She was a high school student and there were other witnesses.”
… Sen John Cornyn was asked if he wanted to see the House Ethics report on Gaetz: “Absolutely.”
… Sen Thom Tillis: “I suspect it will come out in vetting anyway. I’m almost certain it will come out … all I know about him is he likes to pick fights on social media.”
… But House Ethics Chair Michael Guest is pushing back on releasing the report: “What happens in Ethics is confidential. We’re going to maintain that confidentiality.” Good luck with that. It will be leaked if the Senate isn’t able to get it voluntarily.
… Gaetz’s surprise resignation yesterday means that the House Ethics Committee will not release their findings officially, which it was reportedly going to do tomorrow. That is clearly the reason why he resigned before he was even confirmed by the Senate.
… Sen Markwayne Mullin, who trashed Gaetz repeatedly last year calling him a pervert who would show them videos on the House floor of his sexual conquests, made lewd remarks about Kristi Noem, and said he only cared about himself and not his constituents, now says, “I completely trust President Trump’s decision making on this one.” Profiles in courage. They all talk a big game until the guy with the Orange Makeup weighs in.
… Republican Rep. Greg Murphy (NC) on Gaetz: “We need people who can govern. NOT disrupters. Not instigators. Not constant complainers. We have been given a mandate to govern. Not create chaos.” But chaos it shall be, like it or not.
… Kevin McCarthy: “I think the choices are very good, except one. Gaetz won’t get confirmed, everybody knows that.” McCarthy has known what the evidence is for years while predicting that when it finally comes out that Gaetz would be finished in politics. That time is now.
… Sen Richard Blumenthal says he knows of at least 5-10 Republican Senators who will not vote to confirm Gaetz.
… Former GOP Rep Trey Gowdy: “The more you get to know Matt Gaetz the less you’re going to like him. I’m going to be really surprised if he gets confirmed.”
… Lisa Murkowski, who said last night that Gaetz was “not a serious nomination,” joked that she is waiting for Trump to nominate George Santos to his Cabinet next. Santos responded today, “Hey you spineless RINO keep my name out of your filthy corrupt mouth! I hope you go to HELL you miserable, sanctimonious B*TCH!” Narrator - Santos desperately needs a pardon.
… Ben Domenech, co-founder of The Federalist and conservative The Spectator World wrote that Gaetz is “a vile sex pest and any Senator who votes for him owns that.” Ben’s wife is Meghan McCain.
… Fox Legal Analyst Jonathan Turley: “Securing confirmation will be a monumental challenge.”
… Politico reported that Trump made the decision to nominate Gaetz without notifying his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Awkward. The woman seems to be born able to babysit the malignant narcissist because she’s the only one who seems able to do it without quitting or getting fired after a year.
… Elon Musk: “Matt Gaetz will be great!”
… Sen. Roger Marshall on Gaetz: “Trump was elected to turn this place upside down.” He would definitely be accomplishing that, but I think swing voters just thought gas prices would go down.
… Charlie Kirk vowed that any Republican Senator who votes against confirming Gaetz will receive a MAGA primary challenger. The problem with this threat is that some of them aren’t up for re-election in 4-6 years and a few are in states where that really won’t be a problem, but some will still cave to avoid the death threats and aggravation.
… Tommy Tuberville said the same. He had a message to any Senator who votes against Gaetz: “We’re gonna git you out of the Senate.” I’m just spelling it how he said it, so don’t be a hater.
… Convicted J6 defendant and former State Rep Derrick Evans says he will be running against WV Sen Shelley Moore Capito in 2026 since she would not immediately commit to vote for Gaetz.
… Dem Rep Tom Suozzi tells MeidasTouch that Dems need to get in the game and start talking about issues that millions of Americans care about like the border: “We have to stop letting Republicans attack us on issues while we don’t even respond, leaving a vacuum where people’s heads get filled with Republican attacks. We need to wake up to the reality that there are tough topics our base may not be happy with, but we have to be willing to talk about them.” Amen. This has been my mantra for years.
… Alina Habba said she will not be Trump’s Press Secretary: “Although I love screaming from a podium, I will be better served in other capacities.” Screaming nonsense is all she knows how to do. She knows zero about policy. I at least credit her for being able to know that she would be in way over her head and fluffing Trump is her career ceiling.
… Christian nationalist OK Schools Chief Ryan Walters announced a couple months ago that public schools in his state will have a Bible in every classroom and it will be taught by every teacher. He just announced today that he purchased 55,000 Bibles at taxpayer expense, while smiling and holding up a $60 Trump Bible. Not 100% sure he bought 55,000 overpriced Trump Bibles made it China, but it sure looks like it.
… Right-wing publication ‘The Federalist’ slammed Trump’s pick of Kristi Noem for DHS Secretary: “While Noem is certainly skilled at promoting herself, she doesn’t
