… A DE judge has blocked Elon Musk’s $56 billion compensation package from Tesla today as excessive after shareholders voted to reinstate it after intense lobbying from him. The judge also ordered Musk to pay $345 million in attorney’s fees to the shareholders who brought the lawsuit. The court ruled that Musk completely controlled the Board of Directors which obeyed him and ignored their fiduciary duty to shareholders.
… Musk’s response to the ruling: “Shareholders should decide these things, not judges.”
… Joe Biden pardoned his sole surviving son, setting off fake outrage on the Right and pearl-clutching by legacy media, some Democrats, and former Never Trump Republicans. Give me a break. I prosecuted and defended criminal cases for 29 years. I never saw anyone prosecuted for what Hunter was prosecuted for years after the fact. It was entirely political.
… Don’t get me wrong, I have been a Hunter Biden critic for many years. He put his father and the country through hell with his greed and selfishness. I realize he was also dealing with a serious addiction. That said, I saw tons of the Hunter stuff years ago and I am not willing to just blame everything he did on that. I am happy for Joe that this gives him peace of mind in his final years after serving the country for 5 decades. I have no feelings about Hunter. He should just be quiet and thankful and now just go away and try to stay out of trouble and try to earn an honest living.
… That honest living does not including selling his “art” to political donors and friends of Joe for tens of thousands of dollars. There are so many great artists who should be supported more. If his art stands on its own and people genuinely want it who have no connection to politics that’s fine. But this looked completely like just another Hunter scam to trade off his family name for quick cash. I think I’ve made it clear I am a Joe fan but not a Hunter fan, and I look forward to not talking about him anymore.
… Trump had the audacity to criticize the pardon, just one day after he named Jared’s father Charles Kushner as Ambassador to France. Trump previously pardoned Kushner for his fraud convictions.
… When Trump was scheduled to speak in front of the Libertarian convention earlier this year and wanted their endorsement, he was told hours before his speech that they just conducted a straw poll and one of their Top 5 issues was a pardon for Ross Ulbricht, who is serving life in prison after creating the ‘Silk Road’ dark web network that became one of the largest drug trafficking operations in history. Media ran zero stories or OpEds on that pledge though.
… Trump knew nothing about Ulbricht’s case when he made the promise. All he knew was that he wanted the Libertarian Party’s support in his election. That’s all he needed to know.
… Dinesh D’Souza also criticized the pardon. Dinesh had his felony fraud conviction pardoned by Trump. He also admitted the day before this that the premise of his movie ‘2000 Mules’, was based on a complete lie. The movie was heavily promoted by Trump and was probably D’Souza’s single most profitable production of his life. It misled millions about the 2020 election and he made millions off it. Most people would sit this one out, but that’s not the MAGA way, where shamelessness is the brand.
… CO Dem Gov Jared Polis, who was rumored to be interested in running for president, condemned Biden’s pardon of Hunter: “This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation.” This comes a week after he praised Trump’s pick of RFK Jr for HHS. Not sure about that 2028 run anymore.
… Republicans and right-wing media already attempting to rewrite the history of this. Hunter was not prosecuted or convicted of anything related to James Comer’s sham investigation that Joe supposedly received kickbacks from Ukraine. His conviction has nothing to do with that. After years of investigation, Comer couldn’t even bring his final report to impeach Joe in front of his committee for a vote because he knew enough Republicans were going to vote against it to make it a total humiliation for them.
… Trump nominated one of his principle grifters and clout chasers, Kash Patel, to serve as FBI Director. Patel passed the loyalty test when Trump needed it most. After he was caught with classified documents and claimed that he “verbally declassified” all of them, Patel came forward and said that he was in the White House with Trump at the time he did that and would be Trump’s witness.
… I have documented for years Patel’s long history of grifts where he sold clothing, boots, children’s books, Christmas ornaments - the list is almost as endless as Trump’s. He made being in Trump’s orbit a business, and attended one MAGA conference after another to sell his trinkets. He even appeared on crazy MAGA “prophet” Julie Green’s podcast, knowing she had a huge audience of ultra-gullibles who would fall for anything.
… Perhaps the most egregious grift from Patel was in 2022 when he sold magic pills that were supposed to “reverse the vaxx” and “cleanse” people’s bodies of MRNA who received a covid vaccine. Patel was constantly in search of scams to fleece the rubes out of their cash. He learned from the Grifter Supreme.
… I also believe that Trump’s nomination of Patel was a key reason why Joe Biden decided that he needed to pardon Hunter. My article about why I am convinced that is the case is here.
… TN Sen Bill Hagerty: “Kash Patel represents the kind of change we need to see at the FBI.”
… Julia Davis, who brilliantly covers Russian media for Daily Beast, says Russian state media is gushing over Trump’s Cabinet picks. Evgeny Popov, co-host of Russia’s 60 Minutes, called the nominees a “radical Dream Team” and was pleased that “all of them hate Zelensky.” Putin’s favorite host Vladimir Solovyov: “Trump’s nominee to head the FBI, Kash Patel, is simply on fire. He’s tremendous! Really, really good.” How comforting.
… NBC is reporting that gay couples are rushing to marry before Trump takes office because they are concerned that Obergefell, which made gay marriage a constitutional right, may also be overturned like Roe v. Wade by this Supreme Court. Wouldn’t shock me. How can anything shock us anymore.
… MI State Rep. Josh Schriver posted today on X that gay marriage should be illegal and Obergefell should be overturned. He is not alone on the Republican side - he is just saying the not-so-quiet part out loud.
… Dan Goldman suggested on CNN that Roger Stone blackmailed Trump into giving him a pardon. Stone responded that he better prove it with evidence or he may sue Goldman. (That will never happen).
… Rep. Ritchie Torres continues to send signals he will run for Governor of NY in 2026. He blasted Kathy Hochul last week, and now he blasted NYC Mayor Eric Adams for refusing to fire a staffer who tore down a poster of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
… Trump’s Deportation Czar Tom Homan said on Fox that he has been in contact with Adams about coordinating deportation of migrants from NYC.
… The New Yorker published a report from a whistleblower from Trump’s SecDef nominee Pete Hegseth’s charity ‘Concerned Veterans for America’ which stated that from 2013-2016 he was repeatedly intoxicated at meetings and events and even had
