… Witnesses are disputing Nancy Mace’s claim that she was physically assaulted at a foster care event. Several say that longtime foster care advocate James McIntyre, who Mace had arrested for assault, simply shook her hand. The Imprint, which covers foster care events, interviewed witness Elliott Hinkle and others: “From what I saw, it was a normal handshake and interaction that I would expect any legislator to expect from anyone as a constituent.”
… Nancy Mace alleges that she was assaulted yesterday by a trans activist. For some reason the drama never ends with Mace. She said that Trump “called to check on me. I’m going to be just fine as soon as the pain and soreness subside.” She walked into Congress in an arm sling looking like she just did three tours in Iraq.
… More Mace: “I never want to hear the Left call themselves the party of love and tolerance again.”
… AND THEN WE GET THE POLICE REPORT. And as it turns out, the most it could possibly be if you accept Mace’s version of events is that the guy held the handshake longer than she wanted. So the guy did to her what Trump did to Macron this past weekend, but not as bad. IF you believe Mace’s version. (Which I don’t).
… Rep. Tim Burchett: “Where is the outrage in the media and from the left on the assault of Nancy Mace?” Every time Mace falls out of the news for a few days, some “incident” seems to happen which she plays up for all it’s worth in her never-ending quest to get on TV and get attention as much as possible.
… Kamala Harris was preparing to head down to the Senate to cast the tie-breaking vote for Biden’s nominee to the crucial National Labor Relations Board Lauren McFerran, but then Joe Manchin showed up and cast the deciding vote against McFerran, sinking her nomination by a 50-49 vote. Donald Trump will now be nominating someone to fill this seat.
… Kyrsten Sinema decided to show up today for the first time in two weeks to also vote against McFerran.
… Democrats would have controlled the majority on the NLRB until the end of 2026 if McFerran had been confirmed. Now they will not as Manchin and Sinema make sure it goes into the hands of their corporate benefactors on their way out the door since neither of them had any chance of winning re-election.
… Charlie Kirk: “Great news!! Trump and the Republican controlled Senate will now be able to confirm two nominees to the board, giving them a one-seat advantage. The NLRB is massively important as it settles disputes between big business and labor unions.”
… The labor unions and union workers who voted for Trump are now going to find out exactly what that means for them.
… AOC has reportedly secured enough votes to take over for Jamie Raskin as ranking member on the Oversight Committee. As you know, I have championed this move because I think she is ready to assume a leadership role and will be great. Raskin has moved on to ranking member of Judiciary.
… FBI Director Chris Wray announced he will resign at the end of Biden’s term before Trump can fire him: “This is the best way to avoid dragging the Bureau deeper into the fray.”
… Sen Chuck Grassley takes credit: “FBI Director Wray resigned after my letter on Monday outlining his failures.”
… Listening to Newsmax host Greg Kelly explain his reasons why he opposes Pete Hegseth was pretty damning. Says he has known him since 2007. That he has always been a grandstanding opportunist who will say anything to get ahead. He talked about the sex assault allegations, believes he has a drinking problem, thinks he is highly blackmail-able, thinks his serial adultery is more of a problem in DOD that the rest of society since service members deploy overseas and leave spouses behind.
… But now after Trump called Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy, they aren’t allowed to say any of those things anymore.
… Hegseth posted on X today that ProPublica is about to publish a report that he was turned down by West Point, but he says it is false and that he was accepted but didn’t attend.
… ProPublica responded that Hegseth is being paranoid and they were looking into the story which turned out to be simply a record keeping mistake by the Army and they never intended to publish anything about this. ProPublica Editor Jesse Eisinger: “This is how journalism is supposed to work. Hear something. Check something. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as many times as needed. The end.”
… An employee at West Point’s Public Affairs responded to ProPublica’s initial inquiry by stating they had no record of Hegseth ever applying there. That later turned out to be incorrect.
… Sen Tom Cotton then called for an investigation: “Officials at the US Military Academy should not be feeding lies to left-wing reporters about President Trump’s nominees. West Point needs to thoroughly investigate this.”
… MAGA continues to threaten Sen Joni Ernst and others with primary challenges if they don’t vote for Trump’s nominees. Charlie Kirk: “This is not a joke, everybody. The funding is already being put together. Donors are calling like crazy. Primaries are going to be launched.”
… Elon Musk has also threatened to use his PAC to finance MAGA challengers to Senators who vote against Trump’s nominees, so they can expect someone who can spend an unlimited amount of money in a small race to destroy them.
… So the position every Republican in Congress now finds themselves in is that they must vote for every single thing that Trump wants, and if they ever disagree with him on anything their entire political movement will crush their career and make their life hell. It’s authoritarianism in a form we haven’t quite seen before, but it is still very much authoritarianism.
… As a result, expect very few, if any, to oppose him on anything. Liz Cheney is the example. She lost a safe seat she could have held forever by 30 points after crossing Trump. No Republican wants to sign up to be the Next Liz Cheney.
… Trump has now appointed 15 billionaires to his Administration.
… Trump told CNBC that he wants to cut the corporate tax rate from 21% to 14%.
… But Axios is reporting that Sen Jim Banks (R-IN) sent a memo to his new Senate colleagues telling them that he wanted the Republican Party to be more pro-worker and less pro-Wall Street. That’s comical. Go up to Wall Street and tell that to Trump tomorrow. He will be there because …
… Trump will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange tomorrow.
… Two weeks after the Biden Admin announced that they want Medicare and Medicaid to cover weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic, Elon Musk surprisingly endorsed the plan and wants to see the costs of these drugs lowered without saying how: “Nothing would do more to improve the health, lifespan and quality of life for Americans than making GLP inhibitors super low cost to the public.”
… A source close to Don Jr and Kim Guilfoyle told the Daily Mail that they are no longer a couple and have called off the engagement, but they wanted to keep that secret until after Trump’s inauguration. Everything with these people is fake, staged and phony. Junior got outed twice with his new girlfriend then Trump had to name Kim Ambassador to Greece. So much for waiting until after the inauguration.
… Fox just wrote a profile of Trump’s close personal assistant Natalie Harp, who is his constant companion who travels with him everywhere. Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY): “Every time I have been with him, she has always been close at hand. I text her if I need to get to the president. If he doesn’t pick up the phone, I know to go to Natalie and he gets the message.” Hmmm.
… Lindsey Graham: “You want to get something to Trump, she’s the person to talk to. I trust Natalie to keep anything I communicate to Trump confidential. She is very dedicated to the president. I feel like when I’m communicating with Natalie, I am communicating in a sense of trust.” Hmmmmmm.
… With his sentencing date looming in less than two months, former Rep. George Anthony Devolder Kitara Santos is getting nervous: “I have sinned and I take full responsibility. I have a feeling I will be getting another punch in the face from life. People are going out of their way to pen letters to the judge overseeing my case. I knew this time would come and I know I have to face it but these people writing these letters don’t know anything about me.”
… What they know about Santos is that he scammed them out of their money. They are also Republican donors, many of whom were convinced to donate to con man Santos by Elise Stefanik. So this is one case where I’m not exactly shedding any tears for the victims.
… A new poll shows only 22% Americans favor Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter. Of course, I can take almost any presidential pardon on any convicted criminal, describe it to people taking a poll about a pardon for that person, and get the same result. Sounds like this might really hurt Joe’s chances in 2028, though.
… Time has named Donald Trump their ‘Person of the Year.’
… Federal judge Christopher Lopez has overturned the sale of Alex Jones’s InfoWars. He ruled that the way the auction was conducted did not necessarily produce the highest bid for the plaintiffs. A group of investors assembled by Roger Stone actually bid higher than The Onion, but the bankruptcy trustee did not declare that group the winner in the auction.
… Judge Lopez ruled that he did not necessarily want there to be another auction but wants the trustee to conduct the sale with a more open process. The Onion issued a statement that they are “deeply disappointed” in the decision but “will continue to seek a path toward purchasing InfoWars in the coming weeks.”
… Statement from attorneys for the Sandy Hook families: “These families, who have already persevered through countless delays and roadblocks, remain resilient and determined as ever to hold Alex Jones and his corrupt businesses accountable for the harm he has caused. This decision doesn’t change the fact that soon, Jones will begin to pay his debt to these families.”
… Eric Trump announced his family’s latest business deal with the Saudis where they put up most of the cash and funnel tens of millions more into the pocket of the incoming American president. This time it is Trump Tower Jeddah about to begin construction. The Saudis are also financing a Trump golf resort in Oman.
… Tulsi Gabbard tweeted on Nov 21, 2018: “Hey Donald Trump, being Saudi Arabia’s bitch is not America First.” I agree with 2018 Tulsi Gabbard.
… Sarah Huckabee Sanders sent a letter to RFK Jr urging HHS to adopt a policy that food stamps will no longer be able to be used to purchase “junk food” and “sugary drinks.” She says it will also help Arkansas farmers if people on food stamps are forced to buy more meat, fruit and vegetables.
… A child in CA has reportedly been infected by raw milk from the company that RFK Jr promotes. A reminder that one of the leading causes of death in children before pasteurization was bovine tuberculosis, which was transmitted to them through raw milk.
… Bernie Sanders says he will not run for another term in 2030. He will be 89 years old then. I think Vermont has plenty of good progressive candidates who won’t be in their 90s.
… NOTUS is reporting that many House Republicans are annoyed that Mike Johnson is only going to do a 90 day CR, which would mean that Republicans in the House and Senate would actually have to pass their own budget very early on in Trump’s term, which they haven’t been able to do in two years. One member said, “It’s very clear this
