It’s no secret that corporate media is tanking, while independent media like MeidasTouch is rising to replace it. To that end, our Editor-in-Chief Ron Filipkowski recently had an interesting exchange with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban about the current media landscape, and I wanted to share it with you.
Mark Cuban posted the following on BlueSky, the platform quickly replacing X (formerly Twitter) among those seeking informed discourse:
It’s worth noting that MeidasTouch is the 9th most-followed account in the world on BlueSky, ahead of most major media networks. Ron Filipkowski responded with a viral thread:
I am so honored to have Ron Filipkowski as our Editor-in-Chief. He is absolutely right. Instead of trying to find ways for corporate media to adapt to new technologies, we should be asking how to replace corporate media with trusted news sources. Corporate media destroyed its credibility by cheerleading for Donald Trump, and now it’s time to move on.
As Ron said in his posts, MeidasTouch hasn’t taken on any debt or relied on billionaire investors. We have zero investors. Our philosophy has always been to make the people our stakeholders and to build this infrastructure brick by brick with fact-based reporting.
There’s no need to look back and try to save legacy media that sealed its own fate. Screw them! Let’s look forward and rebuild a trusted fourth estate from the ground up. That’s exactly what we’re doing here at the MeidasTouch Network.
If you’re not already a paid subscriber, consider becoming one now and help us grow. With zero outside investors, subscriptions are what make it possible for us to expand and continue our work. Let’s grow together and make history!
Thank you Ron for stating exactly what most of us who subscribe to independent media are thinking. I get all of my new sources from Media Touch Network and Bryan Tyler Cohen. Y’all have kept me from shutting down and keep fighting. The corporate media turned on us for ratings instead of reporting the facts.
