I had the absolute honor of sitting down with Senator Bernie Sanders for a powerful conversation on the MeidasTouch Podcast—and I’ll tell you right now, if you care about working people in this country, you need to hear what he had to say.
Senator Sanders joined me to talk about his Fight the Oligarchy Tour—a grassroots effort that’s taking the truth directly to the people in red and purple districts across the country. Bernie is doing what so few in Washington have the courage to do: speaking plainly about the reality working people face every single day and calling out the billionaire class that has rigged this system against the rest of us.
Let’s be honest—Trump and his billionaire buddies like Elon Musk want you exhausted, divided, and discouraged. They want you to believe there’s no alternative to an economy that works for the ultra-wealthy and crushes everyone else. But Bernie is proving them wrong, and so are the thousands showing up at every stop on this tour—20,000 RSVP’d for Denver alone!
One of the most moving moments we talked about was from a stop in Altoona, Wisconsin, where Bernie asked the crowd to share what it’s like living paycheck to paycheck. What followed was gut-wrenching. One woman stood up and said she had to choose between buying shoes for herself or her children. Another talked about not affording eyeglasses. People are living in what one person called “psychological torture”—and they’re not wrong.

Bernie reminded us that in the wealthiest country on Earth, 60% of people are still living paycheck to paycheck. That’s not a bug in the system—it is the system. Meanwhile, Trump is out there praising billionaires for firing striking workers and drooling over Musk for treating workers like disposable garbage. These people don’t care about you. They never have.
We also dug into a hard truth: far too many working people voted for Trump. Bernie’s message is clear—if Democrats want to win, they need to take on the oligarchs with full force and make it unmistakable who they’re fighting for.
And here’s the most important takeaway from Bernie’s message: despair is not an option. This is an unprecedented moment in American history. We’re looking at a full-blown authoritarian movement backed by billionaires who want to dismantle democracy, gut your wages, and auction off what’s left of the middle class.
As Bernie said, we need a government that works for the people, not for billionaires and campaign contributors.
We’ll be covering every stop of this tour—Vegas, Denver, Greeley, Phoenix, Tucson—and I hope you’ll tune in. This is what the fight looks like, and we need all of you in it.
Let’s keep building this movement. Consider joining now as a paid subscriber to keep independent media growing.
