I have to admit, the demise of newspapers makes me sad. First it was local publications, now larger ones. I used to love reading the Washington Post every day and saw it as a source of truth in our troubled world. I'm really thankful for the rise of independent media, especially The Meidas Touch Network, to keep us informed.
Comcast announced plans to spin off most of its cable networks into a new company. The new company, SpinCo, will be a publicly traded company. The spin-off will be tax-free for existing shareholders. Included in SpinCo,

What will Comcast retain? NBC broadcast network, NBC News, NBC Sports, Peacock streaming service, and Bravo cable channel. Why not go for the whole bundle?
MSNBC knows they screwed up and are relying on Rachel Maddow...a very good journalist to save them by her being on 5 days a week again....for a limited time! That's just not enough for me to return to MSNBC, that ship has rolled out of the harbor and exploded with a Joe/Mika bomb! I read my news here just like a newspaper. Better news and better owners!
I still watch msnbc . Actually a night owl so Lawrence at 10:00 pm and President Biden will be with him I think on Thursday.. and Stephanie at 12. I like the sat 8am. And I think it 4 pm I watch. But Substack has saved my mind….. Meidas Mighty, Jeff Teidrich and so many others have gotten us out of our misery is some way. We will write, email , call our representatives and vote in 2026 to rid who we can!!! And breathe, rest, take a music break ….
Lawrence O’Donnell is the exception on MSNBC. The rule is to avoid openly criticizing Trump. And you must smile and laugh about it all. It’s not a joke and hasn’t been since 2016!
I wish Lawrence would join up with something like The Contrarian or Meidas. I’m so far into “my country is dying and no one is doing anything to stop it” PTSD that I can’t watch TV anymore. It’s too sensationalized and loud and emotionally jerky. Makes me crazy and nervous, like some kind of bad drug.
I have a friend who has severe anxiety due to Trump and the war in Ukraine. Her parents were Ukrainian. She fears the country will be lost to Russia. She fears for her disabled daughter’s future under Trump and RFK. How can I help her when what she fears may happen. Stay strong and view when you can.
I will be back watching Rachel for the next 100 days.
And of course Rachel flows into Lawrence O'Donnel so I will be back again for him.
I watch every Monday expressly for Rachel.

What I like about Meidas+ Substack is the ability to comment and interact through comments with others. I don't watch YouTube, I listen to them on podcasts, and I never really liked the comments section of YouTube anyway so this Substack is valuable to me.
They definitely openly criticize Trump on MSNBC that is why I watch it.. usually just reporting about Trump tells you what he is. They openly tell what he says or dies unlike cnn which I stopped watching when it obviously went propagandist like others owned by far right( project
Especially Scott Jennings! Why no one on the Abby Phillip show has not called his hypocrisy out, specifically, his total about face regarding J6, is beyond comprehension. And they wonder why ratings are tanking. 😵💫
What I don’t understand is why Joe& Mika are still around. He has become more abnoxious and she continues to pander to him. Look at her patting his arm…. So sad for women to see this in this day & age. I don’t watch them but clips of them turn up.
Yeah, nothing like advertising how bad you screwed up by negotiating with one of the best to return to 5 days a week for 100 days. I’ve suggested a few times that Rachel and Lawrence should resign and start their own channels or join MTN. Much better for their reputation.
After the debate debacle. Biden was mercilessly devoured by the likes of Claire McCaskill et al. (on the panel) with Rachel just looking on, saying nothing. Lawrence (bless his heart), with some support from Chris Hayes, continued his full-on support of Biden despite being outnumbered. And, I was SO TURNED OFF by Rachel's allowing the attack to go on and on and on that I haven't watched her show since. Totally disgusting bunch of magpies. MSNBC is no longer on my watch list.

The “legacy” media (ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC plus the NY Times, WAPO, etc., etc.) lied to their audience for years. They normalized Trump and his minions making FOX “NotReallyNews” seem legitimate. They failed in their responsibility to be the 4th leg of our democracy for whom the 1st amendment was intended to make sure we all had access to the truth. They traded our democracy for dollars. Shame on them.

I agree with almost everything you said Ben except for holding the entire MSNBC channel accountable for the capitulation of Joe and Mieka. They may have tried to talk to Deadbeat Don the Con Drumpf and didn't ignore his inability to tell the truth, but none of the other hosts have given him the slightest break. Jen Psaki, Rachel Maddow and Laurence ODonnell are pointing out his anti democratic behavior and the ridiculous lies that all of the GOP's reps make daily. I may be refusing to watch one min of Mo Joe, but I still enjoy the hosts who haven't given Deadbeat Donnie the slightest bit of slack.
