Please make a stand for your constituents and your fellow Americans in demanding that every move against us be challenged and defeated.This is a list to start action on now:
1. Vote down the legislation permitting a president to shut down any nonprofit she/he allege to be terrorist or un-American. Our democracy needs these organizations.
2. Demand full FBI background checks on those who wish to disrupt democracy and our Constitutional rights.
3. Request President Biden give blanket preemptory pardons to all journalists, community leaders/officials, and known opponents to autocratic rule. Protect those who have tried to protect us. Blanket pardon all who have rallied, voted, signed a petition or voiced opposition to dictators, would-be dictators, or those who have not been elected to govern.

5. Pass the No Kings Act.

What always amazes me is that se few actual new regulation & laws get passed to control the VERY OBVIOUS lawbreaking going on, even when they have control of the levers of Government. We are stymied on every front because of this lack of action - it makes me want to yell "what the hell are you all DOING while in office?" !!!

The election results are still a shock to so many of us, but I hope we have it in us to do what it takes to keep our democracy so our descendants can read about it in the history books. I have been reading Heather Cox Richardson’s newsletters about the history of democracy being challenged over many years, so hopefully Americans will be able to save it again.
Some of the most interesting books I am reading right now are history told from a personal perspective. Currently, ‘Thinking the Twentieth Century,’ Tony Judt and Timothy Snyder. I was always curious about the Frye Festival. Reading that you were involved in finding justice for those participants who were duped is great comfort. Thank you
Dr. Tim Snyder (Yale professor) and Tony Judt are remarkable historians and activists, both brilliant. Let me just say that reading them or watching Dr. Tim's video lectures from Yale definitely expands our minds and our awareness.
Living and learning. It was a conversation with Ta-Nehisi Coates and Dr Snyder about Tony Judt, Ill Fares the Land’, which I recently listened to which lead me to this book and many others. They open our minds!
We can only hope Trump does not last the term of office. Trump has no mandate, but he does have an agenda. Since he turns everything to sh@t that he touches, he will do the same to the government and our associations around the world. He is too stupid to do anything else.
Interesting story, and thank you, but it's distressing to read that the organizer of the festival is out of prison and planning a Fyre Festival II in 2025. There's also a Rolling Stone article from July about how Billy McFarland was involved in acquiring endorsements for Trump from hip hop artists. So I'm assuming he's expecting a pardon, if not a position in the incoming administration. It's just sad to think about how many more people will be exploited financially because of this one guy and his connection to the most powerful person in the world. It's sickening.
