I’ll keep this short. Yesterday, on Substack, I published a comment by a user named “Peter” who said that the MeidasTouch Network was making a big mistake by not accepting outside investors and not aligning with billionaires.
Peter’s comment was worded in a fairly hostile tone.
Peter is not the only one who has commented like that, but I shared it to show you a sample of some of the critical comments we get on our growth strategy.
I also wanted to explain to you why, even though it might seem it could accelerate our growth quicker to accept outside investors, in the long run I think it’s a very bad idea.
In my last Substack post, I spelled out my thesis on why it is important we remain an independent, people-powered network. Yes, even if I have to make posts reminding people that we are able to grow based largely on paid Substack subscribers, and even if occasionally I may prefer not to make such asks, I think it is far preferable to do that than being beholden to outside investors or oligarchs telling us what to do, like corporate media is.
The good news is, I received about 600 very thoughtful comments on my Substack post from you all on why we must remain independent and reject outside investors.
It seems overwhelmingly that not only do you agree with my position, but it’s one of the reasons you have come to trust and value the MeidasTouch Network, since we are not beholden to corporate interests and shareholders.
It is very clear that this community wants us to remain independent and to continue to reject outside investors and billionaires. Sorry, Peter.
I just checked the digital Playboard charts, and once again the MeidasTouch Network is leading Fox News in YouTube views, so it doesn’t seem to be holding us back that we aren’t controlled by billionaires.
Here is the latest Playboard chart from yesterday:
Look, we hear you loud and clear. This network will remain independent. People like Peter can second-guess us, but it’s clear where the MeidasMighty stand. We must remain an independent, people-powered network.
Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback.
Please make sure to check out the MeidasTouch YouTube channel today. I cooked up some great videos I hope you will enjoy.
Also, you can go into the “live” section of the MeidasTouch YouTube channel and watch last night’s video podcast that covered a lot of ground.
What did you think of the episode? I went solo last night and gave my little bros a break. What can I say, I tried to be a good big brother.
Anyway, if you aren’t already, please become a paid subscriber to this Substack now if you can. It helps big time for the MeidasTouch Network to grow. We are almost at our subscriber goal as well, with a few hundred more paid subscribers needed to hit the goal before 2025.
Thanks as always.
Keep up the good fight! Long ago in a much forgotten state of WV lived my grandmother, a single parent of two during the depression years, who always emphasized to be cautious where your income came from and to always hold your personal standards above all. Radical thinking- I think not!
I’m proud to be a part of this community of independent journalism and truth telling. Let’s stay strong together.
