I’ll keep this short.
I’m at a loss for words.
Some Trump supporter found my cell phone number and texted me:
“So how is not having a house lol. Well I still have my house 😂 and I’m nice and comfortable. You deserve to lose your house 😂”
Here is the exact message I was sent:
When I got this message, I didn’t even know yet if my house had been destroyed.
I had to evacuate three days ago because of the LA fires.
Thankfully, later yesterday, I was able to check on my house, and it was not destroyed.
My heart aches for all the people affected by this horrible fire.
I have so many friends who have lost everything.
I am so heartbroken for them.
I am so lucky my family is okay, and I didn’t lose my home.
But I can’t believe there are people like this Trump supporter who would send messages like this.
Actually, I take that back—I can believe it.
That’s the new reality in America. And that’s what we, the Meidas Mighty, are fighting against.
The divisive, hate-filled rhetoric from Donald Trump has turned a large part of our country into a cauldron of festering MAGA hate.
They use every disaster as an opportunity to attack Democrats, marginalized groups, experts, scientists, or anyone they believe threatens their MAGA cult.
People like the person who texted me have been given a permission structure by Donald Trump to behave this way.
They believe they’re mimicking how he behaves on social media or otherwise.
It’s despicable.
But when I get messages like this, I use them as rocket fuel for our mission to grow this network.
I say to myself, “What can I do to grow this independent, people-powered media network even bigger and make it more impactful? How can I be better?”
If you watch the YouTube videos I created this weekend, I think you’ll notice an extra energy after receiving this despicable message.
These Trump supporters are never going to stop the Meidas Mighty.
Yesterday, we hit four straight days of achieving our paid Substack subscriber goal. I’m hopeful we’ll hit five days in a row today and keep the streak going.
Only if you have the ability to do so, please subscribe now if you’re not already subscribed.
Regardless, I’m grateful for this community.
Thanks for being there for me and my brothers.
We’re lucky to have you.
We may have never met, but you all certainly feel like one big family to me.
There is no MeidasTouch Network without you, the Meidas Mighty.
Thanks for helping me prove that love, empathy, compassion, and truth have a place in our public discourse and interactions.
I’m still excited to have coffee with you tomorrow morning in our Sunday Morning Coffee series.
You will eventually have a house... the Magats will never regain their souls.
… this is exactly why you need to persevere.. many are with you.. be heartened by that! I am glad your home is safe.
