I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t feel like winning. Waking up to see the Dow plummeting yet again, all while Trump fumbles his way through another trade war reversal, is becoming an all-too-familiar disaster. This is the same cycle on repeat—Trump throws the economy into chaos, reverses himself, then does it all over again—and Americans are the ones suffering for it.

As I recorded this, the Dow is down 1.21%, and Trump is panicking, reversing his tariffs on Mexico (for now) after flip-flopping about five times. He’s kept quiet at first about Canada, though, after lifting his auto tariffs there just yesterday. And then, like clockwork, he attacks Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, blaming him for a mess Trump himself created. A few hours later, Trump then signed an order rescinding the tariffs on Canada for USMCA-compliant goods until April 2.

Let’s break this down:

  • Trump unilaterally slapped tariffs on Canada, essentially declaring economic war on one of our closest allies.

  • Now he’s claiming Trudeau is the one causing the “tariff problem.”

  • He even posted this morning, suggesting Trudeau is only using the crisis to run for re-election—except Trudeau isn’t even running again.

This is the same malignant narcissist nonsense we’ve come to expect from Trump. He causes a crisis, blames someone else, and then acts like it’s all just a fun game. So much fun to watch! he posted today, while millions of Americans brace for one of the worst job reports in recent history.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Federal Reserve is now projecting a ~3% GDP contraction in the first quarter. Let me put that in perspective: If Trump had done absolutely nothing, just continued Biden’s policies, we’d be looking at 3-4% growth instead. But instead of stability, Trump is dragging the economy into a downward spiral.

And as our markets crash day after day, the propaganda machine kicks into gear. Larry Kudlow, the same failed economist-turned-Fox host who cheered on every economic collapse under Trump’s first term, is already out there spinning. His excuse? Trump’s policies aren’t "in yet.” Oh really? Because last I checked, Trump’s tariffs are tanking markets right now.

But it gets worse. Trump’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, a glorified snake oil salesman, now tells us the stock market “doesn’t matter.” Remember when Trump couldn’t stop bragging about stock market records under Biden? Now that it's crashing under him, suddenly, it’s no big deal.

And if you thought that was bad, get this: Trump’s administration has yet another scam to pay off the deficit—by selling $5 million Trump Gold Cards to Russian oligarchs. That’s their economic plan. Instead of actual policy, they want to sell American citizenship like a VIP club membership.

And let’s not forget the mountain of other disasters coming out of Trump’s clown show today:

  • Trump is planning to deport 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the war. Yes, he’s siding with Putin once again, kicking out war refugees while refusing to send military aid to Ukraine. (Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt now says they have not yet made an official decision on this, calling the report “fake news”.)

  • Trump’s administration is drafting an order to completely abolish the Department of Education. That’s right—no more public education system. (Leavitt also backtracked on this report saying they also have not finalized a decision on this.)

  • Elon Musk terminated the lease for the Obama Presidential Library site—because of course, Musk has to inject himself into everything.

This is what happens when a wannabe dictator takes office. Everything burns. Markets collapse, international alliances crumble, jobs vanish, and the people at the top get richer while Americans struggle.

But the good news? People are fired up—even in deep-red districts. Republicans are showing up to town halls and demanding answers. They’re furious about Trump’s economy, furious about his pro-Putin stance, and furious about the broken promises they were sold. And the pro-democracy community is rallying to save our country.

This isn’t just a failing presidency—it’s a full-scale economic and political catastrophe. And it’s only just beginning.
