Here's a question I haven't seen asked: What about the sentencing for his 34 convictions for tax fraud? The ones that kept getting pushed back, and back, and back and allowed him to be free to take over the country? Election results notwithstanding, the man is still a private citizen and will be so until Jan. 20. Come on, New York, while you still have the chance. Sentence his sorry ass and let him stew in a cell for his inauguration. Where's your guts?

When facts don’t dictate your thought, and the lies of a single individual do, you’re in a cult. The Republican party no longer exists, it is simply the MAGA cult.

MAGA is is not a political movement, really, it’s a religious cult, primarily. People are afraid to say that because religion is a touchy subject, but until we start calling it what it is, and going after it as a cult, then we’re not gonna get far.

I can’t imagine what a sh*tshow we’re going to have in the White House with GOP Senate rubber-stamping Trump’s insane cabinet picks. Sec. Musk, here we come.

We need to educate educate educate with emotion.

There could be an initial strategic response to the problem because the results of this election reveal that a significant portion of the voting population may not have realized they were voting for a convicted sexual predator and a narcissistic political predator. Many people understand, on an emotional level, the fear of having a predator in their neighborhood — a fear that often surfaces when local authorities notify residents of such individuals moving nearby. Without this notification, people might remain unaware, as predators often hide their true nature.

To empower people to make informed decisions, we need to educate them on predators’ traits and behaviors. This awareness enables them to choose how to respond effectively. One accessible way to spread this knowledge is through AI tools, like ChatGPT (ChatGPT.com).

Instead of merely telling people, we should show them. By encouraging them to consult credible sources, like ChatGPT, they can receive consistent definitions and descriptions of predator behaviors. Here's how: instruct them to ask ChatGPT, "Please define a sexual predator and a narcissistic political predator, along with 25 or more examples of their behaviors." After receiving the initial response, they should type "continue" to explore deeper layers of information by repeating the “continue” process 3 to 5 times. Try it yourself to see what insights you gain — then share this process with others!

This seems quite confident this existential election wasn’t the last one and that rule of law, any rules will apply to a malignant narcissist hellbent on revenge who also has SCOTUS guaranteed immunity. I do not share this optimism.

Jain is dangerously delusional and seemingly can’t grasp a majority of American voters have welcomed a fascist regime and its dictator. The next election will reveal how oppressive and powerful an authoritarian state can be.

It was not a majority of Americans - too many people did not vote. If you take into consideration the number of non-voters - Trump only got 22% of the American people who put him in office. That leaves plenty of us to mobilize and resist and to support the people who will fight for and protect those who will be hurt most by Trump's policies. We still have strong Democratic Governors and Legislators across the nation, strong Democratic Senators and Congresspeople who will be there everyday fighting for their constituencies and winning favor from people who did not vote and from those who will realize they made the wrong choice as Trump's policies prove to hurt them rather than help them. If we remain strong and support the institutions that he cannot dismantle in two years, we can win back Congress in two years and put a stop to any future harm he can do.

Coming from 67 years in politics, I believe that what Democrats need to do now and through the mid terms, is constantly tell the story of how the obscene disparity in income and wealth happened. Beginning in 1980, the GOP began to turbo its “trickle down” economics. Because it was not a winning message, they camoflaged it in cultural issues. (welfare But Republican administration after Republican administration, they cut taxes for the rich and corporations, resulting in deficits that they blamed on social programs until the disparity in income growt was 452% for the top incomes and 53% for everyone else. THAT is what causes prices to be set for the upper incomes and causes the lower incomes to be unable to cover expenses. The disparity is the trigger, and the GOP is the cause. Beat that drum every day. Biden was making a differnece and improving the situaiton with his bottom up middle out policy. But watch what GTrump does. He will finance more tax cuts for the rich with a sales tax (teriffs) paid by the middle and lower income Americans. We must talk about it in every interview and eery press release.

If open elections are allowed to be held in 2026. Don't even start to think about normalizing this incoming administration. There are not going to be any guardrails this time. He has made sure they've been removed, and don't count out Vance invoking the 25th Amendment on him and leading Project 2025 in by the hand. The Constitution and rule of law are pretty much toast.

Excellent discussion. I am beginning to see much more optimism among Democrats, in spite of knowing hard times are coming. I believe we can slow down the progression and mitigate some of the damage Trump wants to bring down on the Constitution and the effective governance of this country. We need to “keep on keeping on” (as we used to say) as much as each of us is able to. I look forward to your podcasts/YouTube videos! Thank you to the whole MTN team.
