We got asked this hypothetical by a user on BlueSky. They asked if Elon Musk approached us and offered to pay $10 billion to buy Meidas, what would we do? The response has now gone viral on BlueSky. Here is the full exchange:

I responded to Jay, as I did above, because I wanted him—and all of you—to know where we stand.

Even if this was a somewhat whimsical hypothetical exercise, we would never take any money from Elon. Ever. I don’t care if it’s $100 billion. I’m not here to amass generational wealth from oligarchs.
