‼️ 💯 ‼️ those old white men are bought and paid for too! Schmer, Jeffries and their ilk are all in for the money. We need term limits and finance reform!
Schumer is just too old and still expects our legislature to work like it did 20+ yrs. ago. He needs to step down from leadership and make way for someone truly dynamic.
In 1995 SCOTUS stated that no state could term limit members of Congress. Their reasoning was that a mechanism(voting)to accomplish that already exists
Susan Collins? Please read about her giving Trump a pass -- "he learned his lesson" -- voting for Kavanaugh, etc. Collins is just another politician, willing and eager to do anything to keep her job.
How many women voted for Trump? How many people of color voted for Trump? Trump wasn't elected solely by old (or young) white men, but by the combined effort of people of all colors, genders, religions . . .
Don’t relax today Phyllis. Read MaryTrump.org article, THE LAST STAND for details and call or write Schumer’s office and every dem or Repub with a brain. The continuing resolution will make the chaos legal. Schumer.senate.gov has lots of ways to contact him. Call Capitol Hill switchboard 202-224-3121 but I bet it will be playing music so call his dc office 202-224-6542 or a local office listed on the website.
Same here Phyllis! I have to keep reminding myself I am not alone. Thank you MT for keeping news honest and thoughtful. You are helping many many people.
I was thinking the same thing. Schumer and Dems like him have had their time. They aren't willing to do what has to be done. They need to either brush the dust off and step up, or step down and let the real fighters take over. Their old, tired ways just won't cut it in these extremely tumultuous and dangerous times. It's gloves off...Elbows up time!!! 🇨🇦💖🇺🇲 You have our backs, we have yours. This is a fight you can't afford to lose!
Adam Schiff is in Substack, I already posted the senate should get rid of Schumer as leader on his account. Schiff, by the way, is a hard no on cloture. Glad I voted for him.
I checked his contributions on the FEC website. Compared to other Dems, most of his donations come from big money. Less than $500,000 comes from donors giving under $200. That's a red flag for me.
So true! Not sure why he would change his mind. He thinks it's going to hurt us more? Look how we're hurt now in just a few weeks. I wish he would change his mind and stand up to trump! Stand up and fight . We need the younger ones to keep speaking out and out with some of the older ones.
I agree. The old men in Congress, especially the Senate, can't see beyond the institutional ways they have always employed. We need young blood with new ideas and no bad habits.
I posted a rather long comment about this very thing. Calling his office or even your Senators does zip, zero, zilch where this is concerned. You will be met with elevator muzak.
That is simply not the case. The Senators need to here us demand someone other than Schumer. Both of my senators were very receptive. It would take about 20 senators to call for a caucus meeting and demand a new leader which would take a larger majority but it can easily be done.
I saw that Schumer will be in Atlanta next month for his book tour. I will drive up to protest! My senator is Lindsey Graham and rep is Nancy Mace 🤮🤮, so all I have is protesting.
I totally agree...I NEED to hear about folks doing something positive and no one except MTN reports on it. I did get an email from Tim Walz about his plans for doing a town hall in Iowa. It just seems to me that not even elected Democrats care enough about democracy or the environment or our health or anything (that is not true, there are lots of them who do care for sure). I was/am discouraged that the folks that maga will/has hurt most, persons of color, lower middle class folks like teachers, did not care enough to even vote and now they seem to be doing nothing to impact what the gop is allowing trump to do via musk (or maybe it's what musk is just doing through trump). Why should I even bother????I have donated more than I should, money I could use for other things (lie something besides peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day) and it seems it's all for nothing. And then I open MTN comments and I do find some hope, or at least encouragement to continue even if it's a losing battle, but maybe even though we lose this battle, maybe in the long run, past my lifetime we will win the war. But it's hard when folks you thought were on the right side, meaning elected democrats are not. But I don't know of any resistance movement in the history of resistance movements anywhere ever that were easy. But I also don't know of any that were successful when the folks involved gave up. So we have to hang in there and work harder in whatever way we can. And we need to lift each other up, so I for sure am not abandoning you!!! We're in this together!
Me too!!! I think it takes all kinds to have a successful political party that serves the citizens and to me Walz is sort of a combination civics teacher, little bit fiery preacher (maybe that's from the coaching stuff?) and your favorite guy in the neighborhood to go to if you need something fixed. My civics teacher created a desire in me to make the world a better place, and my Sunday School teachers taught me that kindness and loving one another is the right approach to life, but words without actions are meaningless, and he sure has gotten stuff done in his state!
Well I was pretty disappointed with Walz during the presidential run... Not sure why he was dead silent after the convention but I'll get behind anyone standing up right now.
I honestly don't know if he was dead silent or if the mainstream media just would not cover anything he did or said! I appreciated his most recent speech. I appreciate both his style and content when he speaks and based on the few speeches/interviews I've seen with him, he really does practice what he preaches...he understands what Midwesterners need and he has a good track record of getting it for them in his own state. And to be honest, I just like listening to him talk...he's both down to earth and fired up about injustice and stupidity in the government.
You may want to also follow Robert Reich, Brian Tyler Cohen, and Michael Cohen. They report on facts and things people are doing that offer hope. Michael Cohen knows Trump better than anyone and broadcasts daily on You Tube with supporting video clips. LT
Excellent advice for anyone not already following them! I've been following Robert Reich on fb for years but just started following the others on you tube a few months ago. I agree with you and highly recommend them to everyone! I also sort of follow Jessica Craven. I am not a paid subscriber to her Substack but I get her emails and she does a great job of doing a round up of good things that happened during the week every Sunday. A lot of the wins are at the state level (which for better or worse is where the wins will be, there and in court) and I'd n ever hear about them if I didn't get her info.
Thanks, I will check out Jessica Craven. I forgot to mention Heather Cox Richardson. She is an American historian on Substack and in her Letters from an American she writes about the history behind today’s politics. It’s very good.
I have started to print off many of HCR's substacks to use as history lessons sort of when I talk to my grand kids about American history. She is awesome, sort of the person I always wish I were....smart, committed, can get complex ideas down on paper so everyone can understand them supportive of liberty and justice for all.
Thank you and everyone at MTN for working so hard to keep us incredibly well informed with facts and truth. You are greatly appreciated, valued and loved.
Thank you!! Standing firm with elbows up. I'm so over this 51st state nonsense. Time to tape a print of President Tubgirl's face to my punching bag and relieve some red hot ANGER. 🤬
Thank you for being a force for us and a deliverer and symbol of truth. 💙 Thank you for guiding us in this fight we never dreamed we would be in. Your strength gives us strength. You are hero’s for democracy.
Thanks Ben. We wrote emails to our congressional rep and Senators. I spoke with one Senator's office yesterday. HOLD THE LINE. VOTE NO. We will see the participation at rallies today. I will not donate to any Dem voting for this CR. Schumer should retire we need young passion.
Thank you, at 73 I was stressed and confused with all media info
But thank God my daughter suggested MTN and now I’m more relaxed and can understand the truth of what is going on🥰💯
Women will save our sacred democracy. Chuck Schumer and the old white men need to go. The Democrats need to elevate more diverse BIPOC female-identifying voices: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/women-will-save-our-democracy
‼️ 💯 ‼️ those old white men are bought and paid for too! Schmer, Jeffries and their ilk are all in for the money. We need term limits and finance reform!
I cannot agree that Mr. Schumer and Mr. Jeffries are "in it for the money". That would be the GOP.
Why did Mr. Schumer change his mind? What incentives did he receive?
Schumer is just too old and still expects our legislature to work like it did 20+ yrs. ago. He needs to step down from leadership and make way for someone truly dynamic.
$$$ in all likelihood.
Possibly Schumer has played both sides for years and just can't get on board with the need to really fight for decency. Old habits die hard.
But they ARE like the GOP: they're all politicians, not "public servants" or "defenders of the Constitution."
In 1995 SCOTUS stated that no state could term limit members of Congress. Their reasoning was that a mechanism(voting)to accomplish that already exists
SCOTUS is not Wise much as they want to be seen that way. They are mired in legalese and do not see issues the way the public does.
Hahahahaha!
Call Chuck Schumer's voicemail right now, and tell him to vote NO on the CR!
(202)224-6542
If he gets deluged with calls and emails maybe he'll think twice. It just takes seconds to do. Don't wait for the other guy.
To late to do anything about his vote now
They won’t like more women speaking up, they think we should be seen but not heard😡
I’m kind of hopeful about Joanie Ernst, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins who at times have shown more cojones than the men.
Susan Collins? Please read about her giving Trump a pass -- "he learned his lesson" -- voting for Kavanaugh, etc. Collins is just another politician, willing and eager to do anything to keep her job.
And Joanie Ernst isn't better either.
Totally agree. Spineless men need to go.
How about spineless women? Plenty of them in Congress as well.
I'm still hoping we see The Simpsons "prophecy" of a female President following Trumbty. 🙏🤞🤞🙏
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
How many women voted for Trump? How many people of color voted for Trump? Trump wasn't elected solely by old (or young) white men, but by the combined effort of people of all colors, genders, religions . . .

I’m already on it 👍🏽
I finally got a voice mail at the DC number. It was turned off last night and I did send an email. Don't worry, I am not remotely relaxed!
And like so many other members of Congress, no one will answer the phone and his mailbox is full so you can't leave a message
Call a local office. Schumer has a bunch of them. Schumer.senate.gov
Or email from the website.
Done!
Same here Phyllis! I have to keep reminding myself I am not alone. Thank you MT for keeping news honest and thoughtful. You are helping many many people.
You are not alone we are all in this together ❤️🙏🏽
It helps to hear the Warriors that actively working for democracy and our rights.
I’m right there with you, Phyllis. 73 is the new 53. We need to stay informed and active to save our democracy!
LOL, yes, me, too! And I'm 84.
Kids'll keep us straight 😃
Going thru tornado storms and hail here in St. Louis bbl
No response here either guess I’ll Flood the answering machine until they cut it off as soon as many are doing!!!
Chuck Schumer is a perfect example of how the democratic party needs to change their leadership. Out with the old, too old, and in with the new
I was thinking the same thing. Schumer and Dems like him have had their time. They aren't willing to do what has to be done. Call your democratic senators and demand they replace Schumer as minority leader
Great idea, I did that way back in Jan when they reelected him as leader, unfortunately its very doubtful they will remove him
I will keep calling until they do. I called his office and asked him to resign
Adam Schiff is in Substack, I already posted the senate should get rid of Schumer as leader on his account. Schiff, by the way, is a hard no on cloture. Glad I voted for him.
I am so, so disappointed in Mr. Schumer. I cannot fathom why nothing is being done to stop trump.
Schumer always disappoints me. I call him "Chuck the Buck", because he has always served the monied interests. I've wanted him out for so long!!
Grampa Chucky needs to go to upstate NY and pick apples with his grandkids
I checked his contributions on the FEC website. Compared to other Dems, most of his donations come from big money. Less than $500,000 comes from donors giving under $200. That's a red flag for me.
Schumer is a big part of the problem he needs to resign
Yes Leave Schumer You’re Not Helping Us You’re Weak
So true! Not sure why he would change his mind. He thinks it's going to hurt us more? Look how we're hurt now in just a few weeks. I wish he would change his mind and stand up to trump! Stand up and fight . We need the younger ones to keep speaking out and out with some of the older ones.
He's not a leader and seems to be molding into MAGA.
It’s All About Money For These People Not Us
Call your Dem senators and demand they replace Chuck Schumer now. He has betrayed us and has no will for the fight that needs to happen
I agree. The old men in Congress, especially the Senate, can't see beyond the institutional ways they have always employed. We need young blood with new ideas and no bad habits.
YES! It's called fighting fire with fire.
Exactly Chuck Needs To Go Retire We Don’t Want You Anymore Chuck You Have No Balls
Thanks Ben. I’m exhausted. I needed this.
Exhausted, disheartened and angry. I feel abandoned and think what is the point? His words are encouraging to not give up.
Call your Dem Senators if you have them and demand they replace Schumer as minority leader
I posted a rather long comment about this very thing. Calling his office or even your Senators does zip, zero, zilch where this is concerned. You will be met with elevator muzak.

By the way I love the idea of Walz going around the Midwest and trying to rebuild the Midwest Dems!
Me too!!! I think it takes all kinds to have a successful political party that serves the citizens and to me Walz is sort of a combination civics teacher, little bit fiery preacher (maybe that's from the coaching stuff?) and your favorite guy in the neighborhood to go to if you need something fixed. Tim Walz is going nationwide. He's going to visit the areas where Republicans aren't giving town halls.
Except Walz lies, just like other politicians. Not as much, for sure, but he lies all the same and got caught out during the campaign.

Thank you and everyone at MTN for working so hard to keep us incredibly well informed with facts and truth. You are greatly appreciated, valued and loved.
Thanks, Ben
Thank you!! Standing firm with elbows up. I'm so over this 51st state nonsense. Time to tape a print of President Tubgirl's face to my punching bag and relieve some red hot ANGER. 🤬
I've thought about throwing darts at one, but I don't think I can stand to look at it.
Thank you for being a force for us and a deliverer and symbol of truth. 💙 Thank you for guiding us in this fight we never dreamed we would be in. Your strength gives us strength. You are hero’s for democracy.
Thank you guys for all you do for us. We are in this fight with you💙
Thank you, Ben. I needed to read this this morning.
Thank you for all you do!
Massive respect for you Ben and of course Brett & Jordy.

So grateful for your network and happy I have found you! I have been spreading the word about this network when I can!
You, and all at Meidas Touch, are so awesome Ben. Thank you!
Thanks Ben. We wrote emails to our congressional rep and Senators. I spoke with one Senator's office yesterday. HOLD THE LINE. VOTE NO. We will see the participation at rallies today. I will not donate to any Dem voting for this CR. Schumer should retire we need young passion.
